For Our Parents

Each parent that enrolls their child in L.I.F.E. Child Care Learning Center will be provided a Parent Handbook. This handbook outlines most of the questions that may arise concerning their child’s care. Our FAQ has some additional questions that parents may have with answers provided. If there is a question that you have that is not listed, feel free to ask the Director, Lead Teacher, Administrator, or CEO if necessary. We welcome your questions and hope only to provide an excellent service to your children while they are in our care.

Frequently Asked Questions

LCCLC strives to provide a quality Early Childhood Education Program filled with carefully chosen staff members, love, and compassion for children. We believe that children are the most important resource and that their early childhood experiences are crucial in the development of their future. Each staff member strives to offer a warm and friendly environment. The program we pursue is geared toward helping the child develop habits of observation, appropriate questioning, and listening while building a positive self-outlook. Our staff members are partners with our parents working together to meet both the needs of the children and their families.
Our current capacity is 36 children for preschool. Our total capacity for Preschool and Before and After School Care is 96. Our child to caregiver ratio exceeds the recommended PA State Regulations. All classrooms have 1 lead teacher and 1 teacher’s aide. Each classroom has no more than 10 -14 children in them.
LCCLC works in collaboration with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to provide our children with the most nutritious meals and snacks for a healthy diet. This includes the five food groups.
If parents would like to provide their child with a special snack or lunch, they can do so. Upon enrollment, a space is provided on the application to list any food allergies your child may have so that these items can be avoided.
Our activities include but are not limited to play-based learning, sensory based learning, basic education (phonics, alphabet, numbers) leading to site reading and more. Our goal is to build an atmosphere where your child will develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.
Upon arrival breakfast is served and followed by group time which reiterates the plan for the day. We then spend time in our activity centers with small group activities like blocks, creative arts, dramatic play, math & science or writing skills. Next, we prepare and provide snack for the children which rolls into outdoor play or indoor play. After this we move on to lunch and then transition into nap time. When nap has been concluded we again participate in activity centers, group time, afternoon snack, outdoor play, activity centers until pick-up.
We handle discipline problems with a firm but loving approach that demonstrates encouraging the child toward the outcome desired. For instance, how do you handle biting, hitting, or bullying situations? When one of these behaviors occur, we tell the biter firmly how badly it hurt the other child, then teach the child a more appropriate way to handle the problem and finally encourage the child to make amends to the person bitten.
If you have an unusual schedule that requires some flexibility, bring that up as well and we will do our best to serve your needs.

Daycare Policies

Yes, we encourage parents to drop in to check on their child. What are your visitation policies in general? Who else is allowed to visit during care? Only parents and legal guardians are permitted to visit during care.

The parent is still responsible for charges related to that absence due to our parent handbook agreement. However, if you have a pre-planned vacation, please let us know in advance and accommodations will be made accordingly.

These policies are outlined within our Parent Handbook.
Under Pennsylvania regulations, children who do not meet the list of required immunizations for their grade — which include but are not limited to measles, mumps, and whooping cough (pertussis) — should be excluded from school activities, and schools are required to verify that children obtain their vaccinations, except in cases of medical exceptions.
Our expectation is that parents will have begun the potty-training process before the child reaches our child-care center due to the emphasis we will place on developing them in other ways. However, we understand that further training may be needed while the child is in our care and will assist in doing so.
We transport children to and from school with our Before and After School Program. We also take children on scheduled trips during our summer session.
Our trips involve local travel experiences such as Penn’s Cave, Reptile Land, the Tabor Museum, and much more.
Sanitization is held at a high standard at LCCLC and the toys, furniture, rugs, etc. are sanitized daily using a childcare approved solution. In light of COVID-19, we do not want to endanger any of our children, staff members, or their families.
Currently, the tuition and fees for our Preschool range from $155 for 3-year-olds, $151 for 4-year-olds and $145 for 5-year-olds
Yes, there are discounts available for multiple children. We also partner with the Early Resource Learning Center (ELRC) by accepting state subsidized tuition payments. Please inquire upon enrolling your child(ren).
